My Tax Season Sanity Helper

Published February 24, 2016 by mandyhieatt

Ok, so it is tax season and it can be super stressful for us preparers. Just because we are smiling doesn’t mean that we aren’t stressed but it’s our jobs to make you feel comfortable and at ease with a naturally stressful part of life. By the end of the day, trust me, we are so stressed that most of us just want to curl up in a little ball and cry ourselves to sleep. This was me all of last years tax season.

For the sake of my sanity and health I decided that this year wasn’t going to happen like last year. First of all I decided to go out on my own. This may be stressful for most people but for me I honestly work better when I can be in charge. I am a horrible employee but a great boss. But more importantly I am ensuring that I am taking time for stress reduction. The biggest stress reduction that I am doing right now is my daily workouts. Doing my workouts in the morning before I get going on taxes helps me burn off the crazy and keeps me from getting super stressed out.

I could go into all the various studies that show that exercise is a stress reducer but really do you even care? Probably not. You are, after all, following a blog that is mainly about card readings and Reiki. So I am sure that you have either read those studies already as a health conscious person or really don’t give a crap about those studies. What I do want to share with you is my experiences with working out and stress levels and how this relates to my fibromyalgia.

First let me say that although I love working out I also really hate working out. I hate having to wake up early enough that I can trick my body into working out and not throwing a fibro fit. I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON!!! However… I love the feeling I get when I am covered in sweat and have just killed a workout. I love the rush of seeing my body changing for the better (no matter how slow that process is) and feeling so much stronger than I used to. I love that the things doctors have told me I would never be able to do again because of my fibro I do with gusto and a passion for life. I love how I can workout and no longer have the urge to yell at people. I love digging deep, as Shaun T would put it, and finding myself pushing harder than I ever thought possible. And yes, some days my 100% isn’t as much as my 100% the previous day but I always do my best.

Pushing myself through workouts is one of the best ways I have found for reducing stress. I feel more at ease with myself and comfortable with my body and to be honest if I push myself I usually don’t have the energy by the end of the day to fight with people. And for those that know me well know that I am a fighter and will argue a point to death. So the fact that I can become relaxed enough to let something go is huge for me. Just the other day I was talking to someone and although I knew they were wrong I just left it alone. Why? Because I was too tired and relaxed to care. I let them be happy and wrong.

Right now I am in month 2 of Insanity Max 30. This is the 2nd time I’ve done this program but the first time I tracked my progress. Each week I strive to push harder than I did the week before and have realized the importance of time tracking in this program. And what have I noticed? Each week I am able to push harder and go longer and “dig deeper!” After I am done with this round of Insanity Max 30 I am going to do a round of Cize and then back to Insanity Max 30 but with the deluxe set that focuses more on the abs. It is my goal to feel comfortable in a 2 piece bathing suit and be healthy… but mainly the bathing suit part. So I’m a bit vain.

Yes, I am still doing my Reiki and it does help a lot to calm my mind down. But if I don’t get to the Reiki I will still feel ok as long as I can workout. Both are important to my life and I do try to practice my Reiki daily but let’s be honest here, I don’t get to it every day and there have been entire weeks I haven’t practiced my Reiki and that’s ok. Because my real stress reducer in life is my workouts and as long as I have those humanity is safe… lol. It is because of my love for my sanity keeper that I am a Beachbody Coach and help others see the advantages to working out and eating healthy. This is why I run monthly Challenge Groups and why you see the information about Beachbody on my page. Because it has helped keep me sane. And I would love to talk to any of you that are interested in using exercise to help you with your sanity and/or health. So…. if you are interested you can go to my page and click on the Beachbody tab and fill out the form or find me on Facebook and send me a message.

Thanks for bearing with me and reading this blog. Love you all!

Health, Fitness, and Reiki

Published February 17, 2016 by mandyhieatt

My public persona is not actually my personal persona and I am working on that. One good example of this is the fact that most people that know I am a Beachbody Coach did not know I am a Reiki Master and vise versa. Although this may not seem like such a big deal for me it is. It’s a big deal because I use Reiki to help me along my health and fitness journey. Reiki helps me to be able to wake up in the morning and get going, helps me after my workout is done through relaxation, and helps my body assimilate my food better.

For those that know me the fact that I am not a morning person is not new and quite frankly may be considered the understatement of century. I do not like mornings, I do not like them here or there, I do not like them anywhere. However, recently I have been working really hard at changing this aspect of me. I learned that no amount of Reiki makes 6:00 am a good time to wake up for me. I cannot function that early… period. Not even coffee helps that early. Right now I am giving 6:30 am a shot and it seems to be working. Reiki helps me in the morning to get my energies flowing so that I can function at more than a GRRRR level and helps me from wanting to strangle my chipper morning husband.

Reiki is a huge help to me after my workouts are done. I am hoping that as you have read this blog you have realized that I have a daily fight with fibromyalgia. For those that know they understand that even the idea of working out seems like a really stupid idea that will only lead to horrible pain. And in the beginning of my health and fitness journey that was completely true. In the beginning I didn’t incorporate my Reiki into health and fitness journey, so the pain was almost more than I could bear. By the end of the warm-up I would be hurting so bad I was usually in tears. But I kept pushing.

Once I finally wised up and started incorporating Reiki into my health and fitness journey things finally started getting better. After a workout I did a self-treatment and it would help reduce the amount of post-workout pain and usually resulted in a nice nap. By doing this I found that I was able to push harder during my workouts, go longer, and I finally started seeing some results. I felt stronger than I had in a long time and was gaining some self-confidence back. That was back in 2012 that I really started my health and fitness journey. Yes, I basically weight the same, however, I am a lot smaller than I used to be. Keep reminding myself that muscle is more dense than fat and that weight is just a measurement of the force of gravity on the body. Apparently I have a very strong gravitational force.

When it comes to food Reiki is a huge deal! I Reiki food as I cook it and as I eat it so that it nourishes my body in the ways that I need it to and so that I can better control my hunger. Honestly that is one of the worst symptoms of my fibromyalgia right now is the horrible food cravings for things like sweets and carbs which I know are bad for my body. I also Reiki my Shakeology every day before I drink it. I want to make sure that I am getting everything that I need to make my body run to its best abilities. Now from time to time I do get stressed and forget to Reiki my food. I can tell too. Last night is a perfect example. I didn’t Reiki the food during preparation or right before eating it, I just simply enjoyed a great meal with my husband. Right after I was done eating I wanted chocolate so very bad. I ended up making homemade hot chocolate. That was not the best choice but it calmed down my fibromyalgia enough so that I could get some sleep. Lesson – Always Reiki my food!

In the end I realize that I can no longer keep my coaching business separate from my Reiki. Both are too much a part of who I am and I use them both to make improvements to myself. Here is my obligatory plug… That is why my March Challenge Group is going to incorporate both my Beachbody business and my Reiki. For those that purchase a Beachbody Challenge Pack I will be offering them the first 3 levels of Kundalini Reiki at no additional charge (a $150 value). It is my thoughts and feelings that if everyone else could see how perfectly they go together then they too could improve their lives like I have.

Beginning of month – VIII Strength

If you have found yourself in the thicket as night is falling, and you’re not quite sure what to do, Strength would remind you to understand your inner dragon. Reconnect with the part of you that is fiercely connected with the deep power of the earth. Find the molten center that will fire your courage. Then infuse it with wisdom so you can wield your power with elegance, grace, and precision.

Barbara Moore

The beginning of this month is a time to reconnect with yourself and find your inner strength. As it is also the beginning of a new year this is need for inner strength is vital for completing your New Year’s Resolutions. Without the inner strength to keep going you run the risk of not completing what you set out to do. But finding your inner strength will help you through the not so easy parts of the year and you will be able to accomplish whatever you set your mind to.

Middle of the month – Seven of Swords

Even wise people make mistakes. There is much danger in acting in haste. Be careful of the allure of doing something, anything, to change a situation. Your actions may indeed end the problem, but create an entirely different and perhaps worse problem. No matter how dire the situation, take time to think before you act.

Barbara Moore

During this part of the month the Seven of Swords is asking to to just stop and think about the action you are considering before you take it. Are you acting out of anger, resentment, frustration? Any actions coming from ill feelings will only bring about more ill feelings in your life. This is where the Law of Attraction comes into play. If you are in a situation that is not desirable consider how you got yourself there through your thoughts and then correct those thoughts. And if it is hard simply start by thinking of what you are grateful for and go from there.

End of the month – V The Priest

When you are in the Priest’s garden, be prepared to apply yourself and learn something. Your answer is to be found by dedicating yourself to a program of study of some sort. It may be furthering your formal education, deepening your spirituality, or learning a brand-new idea or practice. Whatever it is, it will require commitment and work on your part. The knowledge you seek is available to you, but you must find the right teacher… or perhaps it is time for you to be a teacher for someone else.

Barbara Moore

The end of January finds you in a position to be furthering your knowledge. This can be from going back to college, doing personal development, or taking a course of some kind. Whatever it is this knowledge will further your life and your career. Make sure that you apply what it is that you are learning because knowledge without action is a waste of time and money, to be frank. For example in my Beachbody business personal development is a big deal but what good does it do if after all that reading the knowledge is not applied? It does no good! However, if that knowledge is applied then mountains can be moved.

My Why for Doing My Beachbody Business

Published November 3, 2015 by mandyhieatt

For those who don’t follow me on my other social media platforms I am a Beachbody Coach and love, love, love it. But my why for doing my business has changed over they years since I started and so have my goals. Yesterday I did a short video about what my goals are ( ), so now I am going to talk about my why.

When I first started my business in December 2011 it was honestly to get the discount on Shakeology. And at first I hated Shakeology. Even the smell of it made my stomach sour. But I did the workouts in hopes of getting my fibromyalgia under control somewhat. At this point in my life even getting dressed in the morning seemed like a major task. I was depressed that I could no longer do the things that I loved doing because my body wasn’t able to do them. I was at my heaviest of 185 pounds and felt worthless and ugly. I couldn’t hold down a job because the stresses of the job made my fibro worse. No matter what medications my doctor gave me nothing seemed to work and I ended up having horrible side effects.

After doing Brazil Butt Lift for a while I started feeling better about myself and what my body was able to do. At this point I realized that my why for doing the business was changing. I really wanted to start making money off these awesome products, even though Shakeology still was a no go for me. So I went about trying to get people interested in the programs but only because I wanted to make money. Had no interest at that point in actually helping others actually achieve their goals. I just wanted that money.

While going through this phase I started my study of Reiki and between the workouts and the Reiki I started feeling more and more empowered. I started doing things that I was told I would never do again, the very things I had given up when I first found out about the fibro. I was doing my Reiki meditations when it hit me that Beachbody wasn’t about making money but about helping people. Yes, there is good money to be made doing Beachbody but to be in it for just the money is being in it for all the wrong reasons. At this point I kind of flaked out and took some time to really think if this is what I wanted to do with my life. After a few months I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was meant to help people.

So now here we are to my why of today. I want to help people realize that they can do so much more than they thought they could and can be so much more than they ever imagined. I want to help people reach their health and fitness goals and if they allow me I want to help them reach their financial goals. All I want to do is to help people.

I am now drinking Shakeology daily and realize how important it is to this journey. I am doing the Body Beast workout program and feeling stronger than I have in years. If my journey helps inspire even one person to lead a more healthy life then I have accomplished what I set out to do.
