Knave of Swords

The Knave of Swords is incredibly confident and intelligent. She usually understands the theory behind whatever it is that she wants to do. And to her that’s all you need. If you have an intellectual understanding why should you not be able to just jump right into things, whether or not she’s really prepared? Luckily, failure never seems to get her down.

She can also represent a message about the current problem or situation.

Barbara Moore

This week is about setting goals, prioritize them, and then go for it. So today we have the Knave of Swords who is telling you that you have all the knowledge that you need so now it’s time to get out there and do what needs to be done. Yes, failure may happen but that is just a lesson learned. Take these lessons and try again. And keep trying until you succeed, each time getting better and better because that is what you need to do.

Planning is great but does no real good if you do not take any action. If you don’t plan to take action why plan at all? The Knave of Swords is a real reminder that action is required and that once you start taking action you will be amazed that the results you get. Don’t be afraid anymore. Just go out and do what you planned to do. Be ever present in the moment and be ever grateful for the opportunity to do what you are doing. Gratitude will get you a long ways in life.

Today is an action day. Go out and start your new life!!!

Knave of Wands

This card represents someone who has been preparing to try something new. He has studied and observed. He things he is ready, but it is important for him to get it right on the first try, so he is imagining exactly what he is going to do. While he prefers actions, he dislikes looking like a fool more than he is sure he can do something perfectly. Because of this, he may resist taking risks.

He can also represent a message about your career, a project you’re working on, or a course of study you are interested in.

Barbara Moore

Ok, so you’ve been working hard and preparing for a new adventure in your life, taking time to make sure everything is in place and everything is perfect. What are you waiting for? Seriously? The perfect moment will never come. You need to shit or get off the pot. Now is the time to move forward. Think about what is really keeping you from moving forward. I bet it’s fear, plain and simple.

What are you afraid of? Looking less than perfect? Failing? This is no way to live a full and happy life. It is time that you just move forward and let what is going to happen happen. Things won’t always be perfect and that is how you learn life lessons. Life doesn’t stop just because you think is needs to be perfect. Life just keeps moving along and you are getting left behind because you are too afraid to take the necessary actions.

Yes, you do need to make sure that where you are heading is where you are wanting to go but that shouldn’t keep you in the same place forever. How long are you willing to stay where you are at and have nothing change? The longer you stay here the worse things will get. Get out of your head and out of your comfort zone and just go for it!

Today take action to move forward in your life.

Beginning of the week – Five of Swords

Sometimes the only way to figure out what to do about something is to go over it thoroughly, considering every angle and aspect. You may do this on your own or with others. It has been said that the only way to get the right answer is to ask the right question. If you ask enough questions in relation to your problem you will eventually find the right answer.

Barbara Moore

The beginning of the week is going to be a great time for you to stop and think about what it is that you have been working towards and if you want to continue working towards that goal. If so, how to go about working towards that goal. If not, then this is a good time to stop and reevaluate your goals and create new ones. The counsel of others may provide you with some guidance, but in the end you have to make the decision for yourself as to what you truly want. Do not let others tell you what you want!

Middle of the Week – Three of Wands

It is almost time to move forward. But first, you must consider the possibilities. Do some research, write out all the options, and think about what goal is most appealing to you. Make a map of your journey and a list of the things you’ll need. You’ll want to be sure that you’ll have everything you’ll need along the way, that you know where you want to go, and that you’ll know what you want to do once you’ve arrived.

Barbara Moore

Now that you have considered what goals you are wanting to work on, now is the time to prioritize those goals. What goal is most important to you and why? Once you are able to prioritize your goals you will be able to better know what you need to do to accomplish your goals. Take the time to make sure you know exactly what you are going to need to do, how to do those things that you need to do, and what consequences (if any) will occur once you do what is needed to be done. This is the research and planning part of the week. Do not skip this part of the week because it isn’t fun because skipping this part will once create chaos and derail your goals.

End of Week – Five of Pentacles

You find yourself in a state of lack – both materially and emotionally. You feel hopeless and worried. Maybe you’re too tired to even try to figure out what to do. Your challenge, despite how the situation feels, is to find resources around you that you aren’t noticing. Don’t let this state overtake you. Don’t let yourself become used to this situation. Pull yourself up, and look for a way to improve your circumstance.

Barbara Moore

The week of Monday’s is almost over just keep pushing. Things do look bleak but how much of this is because it is the ending of one year and the beginning of the next? Most people start to worry this time of year, I call it tax season blues. Use the Law of Attraction to keep yourself from becoming overwhelmed by what seems like a mountain. Trust me it is simply a mole hill. By using the techniques learned from the Law of Attraction things will get better quickly, I promise. There are resources all around you, you just have to have the courage to take the risk to use those resources to your benefit. Once you step outside your comfort zone you will see how great things can be.

Runes
Traditional Meaning – Runes of the Elder Futhark
by Brenda Case

Kenaz

Kenaz is the torch; controlled fire. A light will come to illuminate the seeker. Fire is a powerful force, destructive if uncontrolled, but life sustaining when wielded with care. The darkness surrounding the seeker is soon to be dispelled. Use seriousness and clear intentions in your dealings with others. An opening up between you and a loved one is possible with Kenaz help. Like fire needs both kindling held close and the air supplied by space mind the way you are relating to others. Neither smother nor recklessly fuel the fire. The seeker is at the point where flame meets torch – the center of the power of Kenaz.

Brenda Case

Today is about minding how you deal with others. Kenaz is a fire rune and with fire can come life sustainment or complete and total destruction. This applies to how we interact with others. Make sure that you are not burning your bridges when you cross them when that person can be of help to you later, especially if you are upset about the circumstances. But on the other side of that is making sure to burn the bridges that need to be burned.

Why on earth am I telling you to not burn your bridges and burn your bridges? Simple… there are some people that are toxic in our lives and those bridges need burned, buried, and forgotten about. Continued allowance of those kind of people in your life will only make things much worse for you and will inhibit your growth as a person. So burn those f**kers down! But when we get upset with someone we tend to burn those bridges for simple personal infractions. Those are the ones you need to be careful not to burn. Communicate with that person as to why you are upset but keep them in your life. Most people have something positive to offer us.

On top of everything else also examine how you deal with yourself. Are you a positive role model for yourself or are you just sliding by hoping for the best? Make sure that you are keeping your life fire burning and not allow others to cause to to extinguish or rage uncontrollably. As I spoke yesterday, when you have taken your power back you have control over your life and so you have control over your life flame.

Today examine how you deal with others and yourself. Tend to those relationships that help you and extinguish those that don’t.

Runes
Traditional Meaning – Runes of the Elder Futhark
by Brenda Case

Raidho

Raidho is a wagon or chariot wheel. It can denote travel, a vehicle, reunion, or path. Like the ruts left by a wagons wheels, Raidho deals with something that has two sides. Are the two sides working together? Ask the runes what the right action is at this point. Channel force along the right road to the right result. Raidho also symbolizes the Asatru religion and the initiates journey to enlightenment. Take charge, be in control, give or receive sound advice.

Brenda Case

Let me ask you this: Who have you given control of your life to? Because it is obvious you feel that you have no control over your life right now. And the only way that could happen is if you gave up your personal power to someone else. For whatever reasons you did this you need to take your personal power back and now!

When you give your personal power to others it allows them to make decisions in your life that is right for them but may not be right for you. Over the years I have seen this happen a lot, especially in committed couples. One gives up his/her personal power to their mate because they feel that is the right thing to do. This is what society teaches all of us to do. If you are in a relationship it is best to give your personal power over to your mate.

Well, guess what happens when you do that? You end up resenting those you gave your personal power to because they are making decisions that benefit themselves and may be detrimental to you. The feelings of resentment build slowly until you reach your breaking point and you snap. The once beautiful relationship is now just a broken shell of what it could have been all because you decided to give your mate your personal power.

What happens when you keep your personal power in a relationship? You work with your mate and make things work for the both of you. You earn their respect and they earn yours. Fights are easily over come because you have your personal power to say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done. And even if the relationship ends you will not feel a void of emptiness because you still have your personal power.

Today I want you to take back your personal power from whom ever you gave it to. They may be upset initially but will learn to adapt or will exit your life – which if the latter happens trust me you are better off.

Runes
Traditional Meaning by Brenda Case

Algiz

Algiz (or elhaz) is a protective rune representative of elk antler. It keeps space open around you, allowing you to grow and to battle as a spiritual warrior. Algiz also provides a structure reminding you not to collapse into your emotions – good or bad. During times of transition it’s easy to confuse who you are with what you are feeling. Your emotions serve you, but they are not you. Algiz is also the Valkyrie rune. Odin communicates with his chosen through its essence.

Brenda Case

How appropriate that this rune shows up today as we are transitioning into winter and a new year (for those that follow Yule as the beginning of the new year). Transitions tend to scare us as the unknown is always scary and the old ways we were used to are disappearing. But this is a good thing.

Think of the transition of the caterpillar into the butterfly. The caterpillar fears nothing but instead goes into the transition process with full knowing that when it emerges it will be better. And that is exactly what is going on not only with you but with the world as a whole. There are those that fear the change and so they fight it and cause much discourse in your life and the world at large. However, do not let their fear stop your growth. They do not live your life. Those that are trying to stop growth have to learn to deal with their own personal fears so that they too may grow.

Today think about how things are changing. Think of the fears that you have and why you have those fears. Once you have a better understanding of your fears you can conquer them.

The Druid Craft Tarot
by Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm

Five of Swords – Reversed

You may be feeling a sense of despair, remorse or regret following an experience of defeat, or you may have entered into a process of reparation or reconciliation. All powerful emotions offer the opportunity for catharsis – even feelings of pain, loss and defeat. By working through them courageously we can experience a feeling of spiritual renewal. Try burying only the hatchet, and not your deepest feelings or anguish, which need to be worked through.

Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm

Today’s card is about healing past hurts and pains. It seems easier to carry around the hurts and pains of the past rather than let them heal. But this is not the case. When you continue to carry those feelings all you are doing is preventing good things from coming into your life. You are not hurting the other person, you are only hurting ¬†yourself. And I know that is not what you want.

Consider what happened in the past that was hurtful. How did both sides react to the situation? What could have been differently? Once you identify what has happened and what could have been done differently I want you to imagine that it had gone the way you wanted and work through it. Know that no matter what the fact that the situation ended will need to stay the same, however you now have the opportunity to change how you reacted to the ending, which will change how the other person would have reacted.

This is a trick I learned through my study of the Law of Attraction. By going in and changing how things happened you have putting positive energy on something that was previously negative and so changing your energy. This is a step towards making your life better. It sounds silly but it really works. I have done this and still do it when I wish that things had happened differently.

Today re-imagine a situation that ended badly and change it to an ending that has a happier energy.
